A hamartoma is a tumor-like but nonneoplastic malformation consisting of a mixture of tissue normally found at particular site, but rare in the tongue base. Lingual hamartoma is more common in female infant, and the most common symptom on presentation is dysphagia. We occasionally encountered a case of lingual hamartoma in Auguse 1996. Laryngomicrosurgery with excision was percformed. There was no sign of recurrence after 3 months of follow up.
