Unilateral progressive sensorineural hearing loss, vertigo or imbalance, and tinnitus are common symptoms of meningiomas of cerebellopontine angle. But it is very rare presenting with sudden hearing loss. A 37 year-old male of CPA meningioma was presented who complained sudden hearing loss of left ear for half a year, frequent vertigo and imbalance for 2 weeks. Bilateral gaze nystagmus was noted. A 4 * 3.5 * 4 cm tumor mass which attached to the tentorium cerebelli in the left cerebellopontine angle was detected by CT scan and MRI. The CPA meningotheliomatous meningioma was proved surgically.
