摘要

「人間淨土」是聖嚴法師根據佛教文獻與當代問題所提倡之理念，期望由人心淨化逐步達到社會淨化的效果。「淨化」的概念即屬「治療」的思維。從治療學而言，主要討論「病因之診斷」與「治療的態度與方法」。前者主要從政治社會、自然環境，與個人身心問題提出分析；後者則從悟、戒律、行善、教育等層面提出解決之道，以期完成人間淨土之偉大宏願。 總的來說，「人間淨土」的殊勝處有兩大特點，第一，將「淨土」由他方世界轉為現世生活中；第二，整合了宗教與教育、醫療、文化等層面。但相對的，從反思立場而言，其整合處亦有若干問題尚待進一步的思考。此為筆者以「治療學」詮釋其「人間淨土」之觀念，所提出之分析與討論。

”Pure land on earth” is the idea advocated by Master Sheng Yen according to Buddhist literature and contemporary problems with a view to creating a pure society by purifying human hearts progressively. The idea of purification is a thinking of therapy. As far as therapeutics is concerned, emphasis is placed on diagnosis of pathogeny and the attitude and method for treatment. The former analyzes political, social, natural environment and individual physical and mental problems; whereas, the latter presents solutions through enlightenment, religious disciplines, good works and education. In this way, the great aspiration of creating pure land on earth may be fulfilled.
Generally speaking, there are two major advantages of the concept of ”pure land on earth” in terms of its significance and inadequacy. First, ”pure land” is transformed from the other world into this life. Second, dimensions of religion, education, medical treatment and culture are integrated. Nevertheless, certain thought is still required for integration issues. The author proposes an analysis and discussion by an interpretation of the idea of ”pure land on earth” from the aspect of ”therapeutics”.
