The purpose of this study was to test whether the General Strain Theory could empirically predispose adolescent delinquency in Taiwan. Sample, including 1,157 middle school students, was selected from Taipei, Taichung, and Kaohsiung city by a stratified-cluster method. The method of multiple regression was use to analyze the collected data. This study tried to answer two questions. First, can Agnew's theory explain the occurrence of Taiwanese adolescent delinquency? Second, do some strain factors influence the relationship between other strain factors and delinquency? The results showed that negative life events and life hassles were significant predictors of adolescent delinquency in Taiwan. Moreover, the study found that the relationship between unpopular with opposite sex and blocked opportunity and delinquency was impacts by life hassle strain factors. Moreover, the results showed that there is not interaction effect in the relationships between strain factors and delinquency.
