The purpose of this inquiry is to narrate the therapist's self-reflection about the critical moment while the client announced to leave without being predicated in the psychotherapy. Interpretative and narrative approach was applied to write down the changing of therapy process and therapist's points of view. Reviewing the session recording, reflection notes of therapist and client, feedback of primary narration from the client, and recommendations from three outside readers were applied to form the narration of final version. Professional position such as rational, hidden and self-control was rethought by the therapist, while more genuine attitude and action occurred with self-reflection after the segment of being cut off. Impact on the relationship with client in the process was described detail in the narration. The meaning of being cut off, searching for reuniting with the client, and the reflecting on the role as a therapist were disclosed within the narration. To reflect the process of the therapy relationship, five focuses were proposed to discuss and dialogue. They are: 1) the meaning for the relationship, client and therapist in the process of being cut off and searching for reunion, 2) reframing what a successful or failure session supposed to be, 3) issues such as diagnosis versus comprehensive understanding, 4) reality of the relationship, and 5) reflection toward psychotherapy and counseling as a profession.
