The popular election of student president was the main appeal that gathering university students in Taiwan. In the same vein, the democratic movements advocated for the comprehensive re-election of congress and the popular presidential election had consolidated Taiwanese consciousness. College students in Taiwan learned about collective self-rule and free elections of the student government in campus life, and also acknowledged Taiwan's real party-state authoritarian politics and opposition movements through Taiwan's local elections and limited-seat congressional elections. The university's educational training and the enlightenment of the extra-party movement formed the practice of campus democratization, which then inspired to reflect on Taiwan's electoral democracy. Popular election and self-government student movement and Taiwan's democratic movement converged the Wild Lily student movement, which then created historical opportunities for democratic transition and constitutional reforms in Taiwan.
