The purpose of Yoga is to experience body movements and to understand the relationship between physical and mental health disciplines. This study investigates the effects of Yoga on physical and mental health from the view point of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Most of the Yoga curricula tend to focus more on body movements and less on breathing and meditation. Yoga not only improves our physical state, but also it also improves our mental health. It helps stabilize our emotional state and drive positive thinking. The author recommends that you include Yoga in your life, make it part of your routine, and choose the appropriate fitness and exercise methods to help promote your physical and mental health.
