以紫外光接枝法改良聚砜類薄膜表面性質

Modification Polysulfone and Polyethersulfone Membrane Surface by UV-initiated Grafting

摘要


本研究嘗試以低功率紫外光(ultraviolet,UV)燈管與二苯甲酮(benzophenone)作為引發劑,丙烯酸(acrylic acid,AA)為單體進行光接枝聚合反應以改良聚磺酸酯薄膜表面性質。研究發現改質實驗的聚砜(polysulfonate,PSF)薄膜,其親水性隨著引發劑使用濃度增加而增加,但因為膜本身阻抗增加,使得通量下降。改質後PSF薄膜在定量過濾實驗與掃描式電子顯微鏡(scanning electron microscope,SEM)分析證明了改質薄膜表面積垢厚度從5 μm降至1 μm。而聚醚砜(polyethersulfone,PES)薄膜在改質成效上不如預期。

This study attempts to use low-power ultraviolet lamps with acrylic acid and benzophenone as initiator for graft polymerization to improve the surface properties of polysulfonate membrane. The result indicates that the hydrophilicity of polysulfonate membrane would increase when the initiator concentration increases; however, the permeate flux would decline conversely for the increasing resistance on the membrane in the feed water test. Additionally, Scanning electron microscope, SEM analysis also shows that the membrane surface modification reduces fouling thickness from 5 μm to 1 μm. However, contrary to the expectation, the modification effect for polyethersulfone membrane is not better than that of polysulfonate membrane.
