Along with the rapid development of public health, several mental diseases such as depression, alcoholism and violence are found with high comorbidity to men. The male violent patients were repeatedly found with high comotbidity of alcohol use disorder in past. Direct investigation of the mechanism of depression of alcoholism and violence of men is easily neglected because of only focusing on their behavioral manifestation. In this article, the authors concisely describe these concepts in following aspects of psychiatry: (1) the significence of public health for violence among depressed male with alcoholism; (2) the key elements for patients with alcoholism, depressive disorder and/or violence; (3) assessment instrument and differential diagnosis. The understanding of the relationships among above diseases may benefit further research into its etiology and effective treatment.
