並列摘要

This study explores the effectiveness of cooperative learning, as perceived by 60 Taiwanese vocational and technical college students, on their communicative abilities in EIL cont ext. Results indicated: (a) that the integration of cooperative learning with EIL classes was generally agreed to be beneficial, especially by the experimental group and the group of students with low English proficiency; (b) that four factors (Autonomy, Target Abilities. Basic: Abilities, and Verbal Abilities) were found; and (c) that different groups valued the integration differently, depending on the types of learning activities. The above results revealed that the integration is feasible but has to be contextualized based on the need s of different student groups so as to maximize the effectiveness of cooperative learning.
