洪水神話的現代啟示－試談神話於通識教學之運用

摘要

在人類所有的神話當中，洪水神話大概是最普遍留傳的故事，近年來由於科技的濫用與環境破壞，大型的自然災害不斷發生，人類的危機意識也開始興起，2011年日本311海嘯的發生更給予所有倖存者乃至全世界投下一顆震撼彈，古老神話中所述的一切似乎不再遙遠，人們是否可以從中找尋到深刻的教訓與轉變未來的智慧呢？洪水神話中所述的景象有多少為真？或者純為想像之詞？是否能對照現代大洪水事件得到一些線索與驗證？筆者藉由通識課程中洪水神話的教授為例，以促進人文省思與社會關懷為目標進行教學，確實觀察到不錯的效果。本文分由兩個方面進行，（一）、以中國經典之記載及西洋經典中較詳盡且為人熟知的聖經記載為主體，做一內容分析與對照；發現除了對於洪水發生的時間及景象多有雷同外，更有一驚人的相似處，即洪水成因皆指向道德層面的嚴肅警示：人類不符道德將導致天懲，大劫中唯有保持善良之人得以存活。（二）、分享此神話應用於通識課程教學上之實際情況，授課中著重於古今對照，並以311事件做為分野，觀察不同時期學生對於此課題的討論與認識；發現神話對於閱讀者之思維影響與人文啟發，信仰程度與道德深度之間的正向導引作用。

the legend of the great flood is the most shocking and famous myth of all. In recent years, the big natural disaster occurred frequently and people start to think about what should they do to save the Earth and themselves. Anyway, the tsunami which occurred in Japan on March 11, 2011 gave all survivors and even the whole world a sign of deconstruction. The ancient myth is no longer remote story anymore, people know that the same thing might be happen again in the future. Can we learn the lesson from the ancient stories and change our future before everything is getting worse? In this article, we take the legend of the great flood as the example to discuss the wisdom of the ancient myth. And we see how the students response when they compared the tsunami which occurred in Japan recently with the legend of the great flood.
