The purpose of this study was to investigate the immediate effects of using different weights of golf club on club head speed. 16 collegiate male students were the participants in this study. Swing speed radar was used to measure the subjects' club head speed. The results were analyzed by repeated measures one-way ANOVA. It showed that the club head speeds by using normal-weight golf club and increased-weight golf club for five swings are both higher than that of warming-up without any golf club, and the difference is significant. However, the difference between warming-up by using normal-weight of golf club and increased-weight of golf club for five swings were not significant. In conclusion, beginners were suggested to warm up by using either normal-weight club or increased-weight club, which can equally boost their club head speed.
