通識教育中政治學領域課程、研究與教學的歷史連結

Approaching Curriculum, Teaching and Research in the Field of Political Science with Historical Knowledge: A General Education Perspective

摘要


人們常說,不知歷史教訓的人,可能會重蹈覆轍。西方也有一句諺語說,如果我們被騙第一次,騙我們的人要感到羞恥,但如果我們同樣的事被騙了第二次,那可恥的應該是我們自己。這正告訴我們歷史的重要性與忽略歷史的後果。所以長久以來,歷史課程從國小到大學一直伴隨著學子,歷史知識是教育的重要內涵。而在所有大學學科的建制當中,政治學系與歷史知識最為密切,舉凡政治系所的課程、研究與教學,都無法與歷史知識脫離關係。近年十年來,教育部比往常更加重視通識教育,而在通識教育的課程中,政治學領域學科在社會科學的科目中亦佔有相當的份量。在政治學領域的通識課程教學上,因其時間有限,不宜用太多時間去介紹抽象的理論,而比較適合以歷史思維的方式,鋪陳基本的歷史事實,尋求可能的因果關係,培養學生邏輯與探求真相的能力。

There goes an old saying: ”those who didn't know the lesson of history will repeat mistakes.” A Western proverb also points out that ”fool me once, shame on you;fool me twice, shame on me.” Those two sayings prove both the importance of history and the miserable result of ignoring it. In Taiwan, history courses are required in the curriculum from elementary to high schools in past several decades. Historical knowledge still plays an important role in education system in Taiwan. Colleges in Taiwan, particularly in departments of political science, history also plays a very important role in teaching and researching fields. Education authorities in Taiwan have encouraged general education development in the past decade. Curriculum of general education in term of political science also offers diversified subjects under social science field. How to help students understand the subject related to political science field will be serious matters among limited credits. Under the circumstances, introduction to abstract theories should be lessened and training students how to explore truth by way of understanding the mutual relationship between causes and effects should be intensified in an effort to upgrade students' independent thinking.
