摘要

本文整理英語學界的思想史研究實踐和方法反思，捕捉若干值得重視的近期動態，包括全球思想史、知性實踐的文化史，以及借重數位人文學工具的思想史研究，並簡述這些成果為理解近現代歷史所帶來的貢獻。本文最後亦簡要引介漢語學界中國近代思想史研究的若干新進展，認為相關討論可以與英語世界的新趨勢互相發明，深具對話潛力。

This article surveys recent practices of and methodological reflections on intellectual history in English-language scholarship and identifies some notable trends, including global intellectual history, the cultural history of intellectual practices, as well as the application of digital tools in the study of intellectual history. It also briefly discusses ways in which such scholarship may contribute to the understanding of modern history, and suggests that the study of modern Chinese intellectual history in Chinese academia as recently practiced has much to offer for cross-cultural conversations.
