Traumatic bone cyst (TBC) is an uncommon disorder of the jaw bones. The etiology is not clear and it is thought as a kind of pseudocyst. There is no underlying epithelial membrane covering the bony cavity. TBC often accidentally discovered on routine radiological examination, and comprised only around 2% of all bone cysts affecting this area. TBC is mainly found in young patients most frequently during the second decade of life. The majority are located in the mandibular body and symphysis. Clinically, TBC is usually as an unilocular radiolucent area with a ”scalloping effect”.
