Trauma or obstruction of the duct in sublingual gland may lead to an extravasation of saliva from the sublingual gland which is attributing to a different treatment modalities are adopted for plunging ranula. Transcervical or intraoral approaches are utilized for the treatment of excision of the sublingual gland and cyst. We have reported a case of a 41-year-old female with a 2-week history of swelling in the submental region leading to dysphagia. After clinical and radiographic examination, the patient was diagnosed with a plunging ranula. We performed a surgical excision under general anesthesia. The patient recovered well and had shown no sign of recurrence after a 6-month follow-up.
