Bending large titanium plates for mandibular reconstruction is a general, but challenging procedure. It is usually conducted by trial and error over an intraoperatively bent template. Precious time in the operating room is wasted owing to the plate contouring required to reconstruct the mandible. A prefabricated 3D model is used to assist in the accurate contouring of plates before the surgery. Here, we present a patient with squamous cell carcinoma involving the mandible who was treated surgically with hemimandibulectomy. We used 3D printing modeling technology to pre-bend reconstruction plates used for mandibular reconstruction, which helped us save operation time.
