台灣TFT-LCD產業經營效率動態分析之研究

隨著數位時代的來臨，資訊產業對於產品的輕、薄、短小及省電訴求，帶動了TFT-LCD產業的發展。目前LCD產業是台灣科技產業植根的重要發展重心，根據工研院經資中心統計，至2006年10月底，我國平面顯示器產值已達新台幣1兆894億元，是繼半導體後的兆元產業。目前TFT-LCD顯示器已是資訊業的主流產品，有鑒於全球需求的快速成長，TFT-LCD產業的業內競爭已呈白熱化的現象。如何將資源作最佳的配置，創造更多的利潤，是各面板廠管理者的重要課題。本研究以台灣TFT-LCD面板產業爲研究對象，透過資料包絡分析法之視窗分析與Malmquist生產力指數，衡量台灣TFT-LCD面板廠商2001年至2005年動態經營效率。視窗分析結果顯示奇美的效率平均值表現最佳，其次爲友達；華映的整體波動性最小，但其效率平均值也最低；整體波動性最大的是廣輝。根據Malmquist生產力指數，TFT-LCD整體產業的生產力在觀察期間呈衰退(-4.6%)趨勢，而個別廠商中僅有友達的生產力爲提升(6.9%)。

With the advent of the digital era, information industry products for the light, thin, small and energy saving demands, stimulating a rapid development of TFT-LCD industry. Currently, LCD industry plays an important role of Taiwan's technology-based industries. Based on the numbers provided by the Industrial Economics and Knowledge Center, to the end of October 2006, the production value of LCD industry is up to 1,089.4 billion NT dollars, which makes LCD the second ”billions” industry behind semiconductor industry in Taiwan. Currently, TFT-LCD monitor has been the mainstream products in the information industry and is expected to generate rapid growth of global demand, a harsh competition among TFT-LCD firms is unavoidable. How to make the best decision in allocating resources and creating more profits is now an important issue for TFT-LCD managers. In this study, we conduct DEA window analysis and Malmquist productivity index to analyze dynamical efficiencies of TFT-LCD firms for the period from 2001 to 2005. According to the result of DEA window analysis, CHIMEI reveals the highest average efficiency, followed by AUO. CPT has the lowest overall volatility but reveals the lowest average efficiency as well. QDI has the highest overall volatility. According Malmquist productivity index, the overall TFT-LCD industry in productivity dropped 4.6% during the period from 2001 to 2005. Only AUO has an improved productivity index at 6.9% growth rate.
