Buccal Soft Tissue Lipoma in an Adult Male-A Case Report and Literature Review

摘要

脂肪瘤是良性之間質細胞腫瘤，由脂肪細胞所組成，且周圍由一層薄之纖維外膜包覆。在口內為較不常見之腫瘤，發生率僅有1%~4%，少有文獻提到頰部軟組織處之脂肪瘤發生。我們要報告的病例為一44歲的男性其左側臉頰發生了一緩慢生長之軟組織病灶，治療方式為自口內將此病灶切除。這篇報告的目的主要是提醒此種少見之良性腫瘤發生之可能性。治療方式以手術切除較佳，且預後良好。

Introduction: Lipomas are benign mesenchymal neoplasms composed of mature adipocytes, usually surrounded by a thin fibrous capsule. They are uncommon intra-oral tumors with 1% to 4%occurring in this region. The literature is few on lipomas occurring in the buccal soft tissue.
Case presentation: We present a case of a 44-year-old man who presented with a slow growing left cheek swelling that was treatment by intra-oral local excision.
Conclusion: The purpose of this report is to highlight the existence of this rare but not uncommon disease even in our environment and to emphasize that a high index of suspicion is needed in making a diagnosis. Surgical excision as treatment is associated with excellent outcome.
