The aim of this study is to compare the decayed, missing, and filled teeth (DMFT) index in patients with aggressive periodontitis with those with chronic periodontitis. Forty-one aggressive periodontitis patients and one-hundred-seventy chronic periodontitis patients were compared for DMFT index which were measured hymirror and CPI probe according to the World Health Organization criteria. Statistical analysis revealed that the aggressive periodontitis patients have less caries experience and have more teeth loss than chronic periodontitis patients. Besides, the chronic periodontitis patients have more filled teeth than aggressive periodontitis patients before 50 years of age, hut have less filled teeth than aggressive periodontitis patients over 61 years of age. Patient with aggressive periodonlitis have significantly more teeth loss that patients with chronic periodontitis over 41 years of age.
