Accidental Intraoperative Displacement of the Mandibular Third Molar into the Sublingual Space: A Case Report

摘要

Wisdom tooth extraction is occasionally accompanied by many complications including soft tissue trauma, numbness of the lip or tongue, fracture of the mandible, and displacement of the tooth into the fascial space. Intraoperative displacement of the mandibular third molar into the fascial space is an unusual complication. The present patient was referred to our hospital due to displacement of the third molar into the sublingual space during surgical extraction. Computed tomography was used to locate the tooth fragment. Under general anesthesia, we retrieved the tooth fragment through an intraoral approach. No additional complications occurred postoperatively.

拔除第三大臼齒有許多併發症，包括軟組織損傷、下顎骨骨折、嘴唇或舌頭感覺麻木以及牙齒易位進入頭頸部筋膜間隙空間。牙齒易位掉入筋膜間隙的醫源性意外是一個不尋常的併發症。此病例報告為一個醫源性併發症，發生齒易位掉入患者右側舌下間隙空間，利用電腦斷層掃描後定位出殘留且易位的牙根，立即在全身麻醉下將殘留牙根從舌下間隙逐漸推擠出，輔以食指壓迫避免移入更深處後將殘留牙根從原口內切線處取出。手術後，病人無明顯併發症。
