Open Apex Mandibular Premolar Treated with Regenerative Endodontic Procedure: A Case Report

摘要

尚未發育完全的恆齒如果遇到牙髓壞死等情況需要根管治療時，因為其齒壁較薄、牙根較短，治療完較易有牙根斷裂之風險，理想上希望牙根在治療後能夠繼續生長、齒壁增厚。本文提出一個根尖尚未閉合，但因特殊型態齒外齒（dens evaginatus）斷裂導致牙髓部分壞死產生膿腫（abscess）的下顎第二小臼齒，在使用再生牙髓治療步驟（regenerative endodontic procedure）後症狀消失且牙根繼續生長的臨床病例。文中也會討論齒外齒的發生率、如何預防其斷裂、使用再生牙髓治療步驟的要點及治療中需要注意的事項。

It is a challenge when an immature permanent tooth needs root canal treatment because of thin dentin wall and short root. This article presents an open apex mandibular second premolar with apical abscess and fractured dens evaginatus. The tooth was healing well after treated with regenerative endodontic procedure and coronal restoration.
