Art can be an effective way to help children communicate and express themselves. It can be a much more viable solution for communication than simply having a conversation and talking about thoughts. Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) have difficulties in social situations. Through art making process and expression in art, it is reasonable to say children will benefit from the art making process. This study introduced autistic children a new way to communicate with others. It is hypothesized that group art therapy will help autistic children improve their social skills because working in a group is a more efficient way for solving problems and practicing skills together. This was the experience that the art therapist working in the Child Development Center in Queensland, Australia.
