摘要


因應世界各國數位廣播的開播,錄製高解析電視節目,需較DVD更大容量的儲存媒體。下世代藍光光碟為其主流,記錄讀取波長由紅光650nm縮短為藍光405nm。目前有三大主要陣營(一)BD(Blu-ray disc):由飛利浦、新力索尼等公司組成的BD聯盟主導其規格,單面單層的容量為23~27GB,光碟基板為1.1mm再加上一層0.1mm覆蓋保護層。(二)HD-DVD (High Definition DVD):由DVD聯盟中Toshiba、NEC主導其規格,單面單層的容量為15~20GB,光碟基板為兩片0.6mm對貼,與DVD相同。(三)Blue HD-DVD:由工研院與台灣前瞻光儲存研發聯盟主導其規格,單面單層的容量為17~27GB,光碟基板可採用1.1mm+0.1mm或0.6mm+0.6mm。

The new generation of optical disc uses a 405nm blue-violet laser and is more 5~6 times larger storage capacity than DVD for digital broadcast and HDTV (high definition television). There are three main camps (1) BD (Blu-ray Disc): The companies that established the basic specifications for the Blu-ray Disc are Royal Philips Electronics, Sony Corporation and so on (BD Forum). The BD enables the recording, rewriting and play back of up to 23~27 gigabytes (GB) of data on a single sided single layer 12cm CD/DVD size disc. The disc is made up 1.1mm substrate and 0.1mm optical transmittance protection layer (”coverlayer”). (2) HD-DVD (High Definition DVD): Toshiba and NEC in DVD Forum are leading the specifications of HD-DVD. The HD-DVD disc has 15~20 GB capacity. The disc is made up two 0.6mm substrates bonding. (3) Blue HD-DVD: ITRI and AOSRA(Advanced Optical Storage Research Alliance in Taiwan) are leading the specifications. The HD-DVD disc has 17~27 GB capacity
