易象與斜透：《遠鏡說》裡的光學原理

摘要

《遠鏡說》裡介紹了構成望遠鏡的各透鏡、近視和遠視眼鏡，以及相關的光學原理，但書中所附的光路圖、近視遠視的成因、所使用的光學原理如易象、斜透等意義，均與現代幾何光學的觀念大大不同。本文主要探究書裡所謂的易象與斜透等迷思概念的背景與原因，及這些迷思概念對發展幾何光學教材教法之助益。

Based on the eidola-emanating model, Johann Adam Schall von Bell and Li Zu-Bai, the authors of ”On the Telescope” (1926), have many misconceptions in explaining the phenomena of the refraction and the image-formation of convex and concave lens. This study explores related issues such as the academic exchange among these Jesuits and Kepler, the optics works of Ptolemy and Kepler, the misconceptions about the vision and refraction of ”On the Telescope”, and the implications for teaching geometrical optics.
