摘要

文學、小說、繪畫、雕刻、音樂、戲劇、電影……等藝術的創作，透過虛構的方式，重新組合自然界的真實，創造現實世界不存在的事實，形成驚人的魅力，讓人著迷不已。
藝術家模擬自然或模擬人生，刪去蕪雜，擷取精華，加上個人的創見，組成首尾一貫、秩序完美的整體；藝術家利用“誇張”突顯主題；欣賞者以藝術家創作的藝術品加上聯想，擴大想像空間，施行欣賞者的再創作。這些都屬於虛構的範疇。
藝術不同於科學，常用“誇張”突顯主題，去蕪存菁；常以“模擬”表現含蓄的意境；常透過“想像”擴大藝術的表現範圍。這些虛構的方法，增加了趣味性、豐富，性、含蓄性及藝術性。是藝術創作與欣賞極重要的一環。

Creative works in literature, novel, painting, sculpture, music, drama and movie are always fabricated. Writers and artists produce various works through their imaginative minds. In their efforts to reorganize the facts of nature, they find something out of nothing. The charm of fabrication is remarkable.
Artists observe the phenomena in nature and human Iife. They keep the good and get rid of the bad. In addition, they add their personal feelings to them, and thereby achieve an coherent and perfect beauty. Artists employ ”exaggeration” to lay emphasis on their key points. Appreciators become recreator of art by freely using their ”imagination” to face the works of artists. All this can be placed in fabrication category.
Art is different from science. Unlike science, art always distinguishes itself by ”exaggeration”, and preserves the good by ridding itself of superfluous details. Artists always employ ”observation” to express their subtle conceptions on things. They always broaden domain of art by the exercise of their respective ”imaginations”. All these methods of fabrication make their works more interesting, more valuable, more subtle, and they enrich artistic spirit. Fabrication really plays an important role in the creation and appreciation of art.
