在老年人口不斷攀升,為了迎接高齡化的時代來臨,以及老化造成的認知功能退化及生活能力下降,並對身心健康造成影響,如何減緩高齡者身心衰退,維持良好的認知功能為當前重要的議題。認知功能會隨著年齡的增加而持續下降,台灣高齡者有認知障礙的比例也隨年齡提升,近年許多研究發現,多項營養補充(如:ω-3脂肪酸、維生素、蛋白質及肌酸)對於認知功能表現有選擇性的正向效果,單次或長期的肌力訓練對認知功能亦有好的效果,且強度與效果有正向關係,但其生物機制仍不明確。然而,研究各有其限制,未來需要更多研究做進一步了解。因此,本文建議可以將營養補充合併肌力訓練做討論,對於不同面向的認知功能及營養補充與阻力訓練影響認知功能之機轉做更多探討。
The elderly population has been rising. It's an important issue on how to slow down a decline in physical and mental function of elders, and maintain healthy brain cognitive function in order to face the coming of aging society, as well as the degeneration of cognitive function and the decline of living ability caused by aging, which affects physical and mental health. Cognitive function will decline continuously with age, and the rate of cognitive impairment of elderly in Taiwan also increases with age. Recent studies have shown that multiple nutritional supplements (e.g. Omega-3 fatty acid, vitamin, protein and creatine) have selective positive effect on cognitive performance. It has also been found that acute and long-term muscle strength training has a positive impact on cognitive function. However, the biological mechanism for both intervention is still unclear. Nevertheless, each study has its limitations. It needs more studies for further understanding in the future. Therefore, we advise future researchers to discuss the effect of nutritional supplement combine with muscle strength training. More discussion is needed on the different aspects of cognitive function and the biological mechanism of nutritional supplementation and resistance training on affecting cognitive function.
