摘要

本研究目的在利用交通部觀光局民國九十二年「國人旅遊狀況調查」之原始資料，
分析前往苗栗旅遊者之社會經濟特性、旅遊支出及旅遊意向，並選擇國內兩個縣市作為對照組，利用相關統計方法加以比較分析，期望從分析結果中歸納出這些旅遊者的特性，以作為苗栗縣政府擬定觀光旅遊政策之參考。
此外，本研究更進一步將苗栗地區之主要旅遊景點，依其屬性劃分成三個不同的旅遊活動類型，再利用多項Logit模型，實證估計影響遊客選擇旅遊景點之相關因素。實證估計結果顯示，遊客在選擇苗栗地區相關旅遊景點時，主要會受到年齡、所得、婚姻狀態及季節性因素的影響。

There are two purposes for this paper. First, to analyze the characteristics of tourists into Miaoli County, including their socie-ecnomic characteristic, expenditures and preferences for touring destination. Two areas, Taipei City and Yuan Lin County, are selected for comparing purpose. Second, the multinomial logit model is used to empirically estimate the factors that affect the tourist's decision on touring destination. The results shows that tourist's age, monthly income, marriage status, and seasonal factors were found to have significant influences on the tourist's choice of destinations.
