An Ecological Interpretation on Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice

Concepts of ecology have been widely applied in various different fields such as politics, economics, literature etc. So if we interpret Pride and Prejudice from the ecological point of view, we may have a feeling and comprehension which are entirely different from previous ones when we reread it. We may find that it holds ecological wisdom in store, and that is where literary classics are most fascinating. It seems never to be left behind by the times, as it appears to take the lead forever in opening up people's field of vision and enlightening people's wisdom. This article is trying to interpret Pride and Prejudice from some basic concepts in ecology. These basic concepts are: conflict and harmony, complementary mutualism, regression and evolution etc. As a matter of fact, the above-mentioned concepts are interrelated, interpenetrated and interacted on each other. For convenience of discussion, we are going to categorize them into the following topics to be discussed respectively.
