應用於有線與無線網路之不同TCP Vegas版本的研究與比較

摘要


TCP Vegas的壅塞控制(congestion control)機制相較於傳統的TCP Reno,TCP Vegas明顯地可以達到較高的吞吐量(throughput)。因為TCP Vegas可以在較早階段發現網路擁塞的狀況,並且可以成功地預防在TCP Reno經常發生的定期性封包遺失(packet loss)。但是TCP Vegas的壅塞控制無論是在有線或是無線的網路環境上,實行上仍然有許多缺失。本論文主要將近年來已被提出的某些TCP Vegas修改版本做一個簡單的介紹,針對這些TCP Vegas修改版本所修改的演算法部分、欲改善的方向和實行的網路環境上做一整理比較。

TCP Vegas congestion control mechanisms can achieve higher throughput compared to traditional TCP Reno significantly. Because TCP Vegas can detect network congestion conditions in the early stage and successfully prevent periodic packet loss that usually occurs in traditional TCP Reno. However, TCP Vegas congestion control mechanisms still have many drawbacks when it implements on wire or wireless networks environment. In this paper, we intend to collect many different TCP Vegas modified versions that have been presented. Moreover, we compare the part of algorithms, the improved aspects, and the implemented network environments in these TCP Vegas modified versions.
