Aging related health problems has been more common along with the older people. Although dysphagia is a highly prevalent clinical condition, it is often not recognized. Any disruption in the swallowing process can be defined as dysphagia. Age-related changes, many diseases and even their treatments may contribute to dysphagia. Once dysphagia occurs, the patients are prone to have many complications such as malnutrition and aspiration pneumonia. In this article we attempt to report a case of chronic dysphagia, trying to explore the possible etiology and connection with specific diseases, in the aim to provide clinical physicians how to trace back the history and determine the appropriate diagnostic testing. Dysphagia management should be individualized through multidisciplinary team working, in prevention of functional decline and related complications.
