Strategies to Promote Ocean Literacy in Public: The Curriculum Design and Training Program for Marine Educators in Taiwan

Abstract: The Taiwan Marine Education Center supports the development of national marine education. It promotes the integration of marine education institutions and supports marine education. The aim is to encourage primary teachers and marine
educators, to improve the necessary teaching skills and qualities of marine educators. To enhance the essential teaching skills and qualities of marine educators, we will encourage more elementary teachers and educators to engage in marine education. We establish a series of training courses for marine educators.
The TMEC develops inventory and compile the professional content and knowledge required of marine educators, and develop and run the Green Level (Beginner) and the Marine Educator Training Courses. The training course is for Blue Level (Advanced) Marine Educators. This course is still under development and revision. Even, it has gradually improved the knowledge and skills of hundreds of in-service teachers and has been steadily implemented. This course is still under construction and change. Again, it has continuously enhanced the knowledge and skills of hundreds of teachers in the field of ocean education and has been gradually implemented. In the cultivation of teacher-educator incubators. These marine educators will promote marine education in the future steadily and extensively, which will effectively enhance the ocean literacy of students and the whole population.
