「日本語人」が中国を描く理由－リービ英雄『仮の水』を中心に

摘要

生粋のアメリカ人でありながら、リービ英雄はなぜ日本語で創作活動をするのだろうか。最近、彼の作品世界は日本だけでなく、中国にまで広がり始めた。リービ英雄が「日本語で中国を書く」時、彼が「日本語で創作する」という意味はより相対化されると言える。
その存在が、あまりにも前例がなく、ユニークなものであるためか、リービ英雄作品に関する研究は、永岡(2009)等があるものの、現在までのところ、必ずしも多いとは言えないようである。
本稿は、先行研究の問題点を指摘すると同時に、中国を舞台にした創作集である(2008)『仮の水』を中心に、リービ英雄が日本語で中国を書く意義について分析を試みた。結果、リービ英雄が目指すのは国家に規定されない「日本語人」たることであり、中国はその目的のために必要な舞台装置であることが明らかになった。

This paper indicate the problem of Nagaoka (2009), also focused on (2008) ”Kari no Mizu”, analyzed the meaning of Levy Hideo describe China in Japanese. As a result, It came to light, that Levy Hideo needs China because he wants to be a 'Nihongojin' who is not restricted by Nation.
