Effect of Acidic Electrolyzed Oxidizing Water on Growth and Toxin Production of Toxic Dinoflagellates

酸性電解水對有毒渦鞭毛藻之生長及產毒之影響

摘要


酸性電解水具有十分良好之殺菌能力,為得知其對於殺滅有毒渦鞭毛藻之效用及其毒素降解之能力,將有毒渦鞭毛藻Gymnodinium catenatum,Alexandrium catenella和A. minutum注入酸性電解水中進行24小時之藻類半數致死濃度試驗,得知結果分別為5%,1%及2%。另外,以2%酸性電解水注入藻液30分鐘後藻細胞生長較慢,但18天後各組之藻細胞量並無顯著差異。有毒渦鞭毛藻A. catenella和G. catenatum之毒組成皆因暴露於酸性電解水中而受影響,但A. minutum則不受其影響。由此可顯示出酸性電解水具有殺滅有毒渦鞭毛藻之能力。

Acidic electrolyzed oxidizing water (acidic EO water) possesses good sterilizing effect, so it has been investigated in killing toxic dinoflagellates and reducing their toxin-producing ability. The lethal concentrations of acidic EO water for exposing 24 hr on dinoflagellates, Gymnodinium catenatum, Alexandrium catenella and A. minutum, were 5%, 1% and 2%, respectively. The growth of dinoflagellates treated with 2% acidic EO water for 30 min was inhibited before stationary stage, but cell counts had no significant difference after culturing 18 days hereafter. Toxicity and toxin profile of both dinoflagellates A. catenella and G. catenatum were found to be affected by acidic EO water treatment, but those of A. minutum were not. It indicated that acidic EO water plays a good effect in killing the toxic dinoflagellates.
