摘要

斜頭症(positional plagiocephaly)被認爲是初生嬰兒睡覺姿勢影響所造成的。對於斜頸症頭型歪斜嚴重程度的衡量，定量分析藉由計算頭型上相對應的資料，提供明確的資訊。我們在此發展一個橢圓形狀的頭形模型，去衡量頭型的不對稱性。利用斜頸指標及頭型凹凸指數圖表來描述頭型的對稱情形。對於衡量頭型的對稱性，斜頸指標是一個有用的工具。頭型凹凸指數圖表則是一個用以描述頭型局部區域凸起或凹陷有利的工具。利用此方法，可以瞭解斜頭症頭型的發展狀況，做爲進行頭型矯正前的參考。

Positional plagiocephaly has been ascribed to a preferential sleeping position in early infancy. Quantitative analysis can provide clear information for estimating the degree of deformity by computing the relative data on the head shape. We developed an ellipse shape model to score the asymmetry of the head shape. Then a plagiocephaly index and a profile of concave/convex index were used to describe the symmetry of the head shape. The plagiocephaly index is a useful tool for evaluating the symmetry of the head shape. The profile of concave/convex index is also a useful profile to express local protrusions of the head shape. The natural development of positional plagiocephaly should be understood before undertaking any treatment.
