Choir music is becoming ever more popular in Taiwan. Both the quantity and quality of choir groups in Taiwan have increased a lot, and it is getting more and more easy to obtain resources for practicing choral singing. There are two stages in a typical choral practice: warming up and singing practice. The warming up stage includes physical warm-up and vocal warm-up, which includes respiratory training, interval practice, pitch practice, and so on. The foregoing shows that it is necessary to use one's voice and related muscles frequently in choral singing. Moreover, choir conductors provide guidance to choir members on the knowledge of how to use their voice on occasion. The above-mentioned shows that there are some similarities between choir practice and professional vocal singing or clinical voice training. A review of some of the related studies shows that choir practices have a positive benefit on voice function, but more studies are still needed to prove their efficacy in regard to vocal function.
