|Between January 5th and 9th 1925, Kenji Miyazawa traveled to Sanriku in northeastern Japan. Later, he created a poem based on the journey, titled "Fantasizing the Trip." Miyazawa revised the poem repeatedly, even making up the setting and other elements. To understand why Miyazawa made those decisions and what drove him to Sanriku in the first place, a study was conducted to explore the poem, particularly elements that reflect the poet's experience. The study found out that Miyazawa traveled to Sanriku for an investigation, which would serve as the foundation for his plan after retiring from the Agricultural School. The study also found out that Miyazaki constantly revised the poem to help clear his thoughts as he tried to decide whether to become a mechanic at a stone crusher plant in northeastern Japan. Besides the findings above, this paper also includes a detailed discussion concerning the relationship between wall materials and Miyazawa after he became a mechanic.|Between January 5th and 9th 1925, Kenji Miyazawa traveled to Sanriku in northeastern Japan.
