Renal replacement therapy (RRT) is life-saving treatment for end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients. Currently, hemodialysis is the most common RRT for ESRD patients in Taiwan. Beyond the continuation of life, such a treatment is associated with many complications. This article would review two of the most common complications during hemodialysis: Intra-dialytic hypotension and muscle cramp.
