某大學三年級生善終概念之分析

Analysis of Good Death Concept in Junior Students of an University

摘要


本研究主要在探索與描述台灣學生對「善終」的概念,共有90位大學三年級的學生被邀請寫下自己對善終的想法、信念與價值觀;所有學生寫就的資料轉爲文本後,使用質性研究步驟進行內容分析。研究結果顯示學生對於善終的概念可大分爲:身體外觀、情緒安適、靈性安適、死亡方式、有控制感、家庭完整以及支持系統等七大主題。身體外觀包含身體整齊、清潔與完整等共9項次主題;情緒安適包含感覺和平安詳、沒有遺憾等共19項次主題;靈性安適包含自覺生命有意義、有價值,且希望遺願能被實現等共15項次主題;死亡方式包含希望睡夢中自然死亡或意外猝死等共7項次主題;有控制感包含能完成自己想做的事以及希望家人能尊重自己的意願等共15項次主題;家庭完整包含家人不要太過悲傷以及能互相支持、彼此照顧等共14項次主題;支持系統包含重要他人、寵物、醫護人員、宗教信仰與社會團體的關心與陪伴等共6項次主題。死時希望能保有美麗的外觀以及寵物的陪伴是本研究結果中不同於成人善終概念之重要發現。本研究結果希望能對善終概念的建構、生死教育的課程設計以及年輕臨終病人的臨床照顧有所貢獻。

This study aimed to identify and describe the <||>good death<||> that was conceptualized by students in Taiwan. Ninety junior students in an university of year 3 were invited to write down their thinking, belief and value to describe what good death was. The answers were collected and transcribed into texts and were analyzed by qualitative analytic method. The main findings were distinguished into physical appearance, emotional wellbeing, spiritual wellbeing, death modes, control feeling, family integrity and support systems seven themes. The good death in physical appearance were including 9 subtitles such as shipshape and clean body; in emotional wellbeing were including 19 subtitles such as feeling peace and no feeling with regret; in spiritual wellbeing were including 15 subtitles such as valued life and the last wish would be true; in death modes were including 7 subtitles such as dying in the sleeping or suddenly; in control feeling were including 15 subtitles such as doing something as he wanted and family could respect to him; in family integrity were including 14 subtitles such as no grieving too much and families could support to each others; and in support systems were including 6 subtitles such as families, pets, professional staff, religious and society support. The integrated and beautiful appearance and pets support are the special and important results in this study. The results of this study will provide the suggestions to the nursing care and education in the future.
