以高油脂飲食肥胖大鼠探討商業化紅麴產品降低體脂肪之效果

Studies on Body Fat-lowering Effects of a Commercial Monascus-fermented Product Using a High-fat Diet-induced Obese Rat Model

摘要


紅麴米中的多種二次代謝物均具有生理功效。本研究以動物試驗評估味全紅麴產品於減少體脂肪生成之功效,探討商業化量產之紅麴產品是否可作為不易形成體脂肪之保健食品。以雄性Wistar大白鼠作為試驗動物,研究中同時餵食高油脂飲食與不同劑量之紅麴米粉末,飼養八週後,評估各指標以判定其減緩體脂肪生成之效果。結果顯示,每日餵食二或五倍劑量之紅麴產品可顯著減少體重增加量、食物利用率與脂肪細胞大小。攝食量在高油脂飲食組與其他各試驗組無顯著差異,顯示各試驗組之體重增加量與體脂肪降低結果與攝食量無關。安全性試驗評估,紅麴產品不會造成血液電解質平衡、肝功能、腎功能、血糖與酮體濃度之顯著影響,且可有效降低高熱量飲食組之總膽固醇與三酸甘油酯濃度。本研究成果證實二倍劑量之紅麴產品可作為有效降低體重與體脂肪之產品。

Monascus-fermented red mold rice containing multiple functional secondary metabolites was proven as the multi-functional food with hypolipidemic, hypotensive, and body-fat lowering effect. This study investigated the body-fat lowering effects of red mold rice powder from Wei-Chuan Corporation using an animal model in order to understand whether the commercial Monascus product is able to be the functional food for lowering body-fat. In this study, high-fat diet-induced obese Wistar rats were administrated with various dosages of Monascus powder for 8 weeks. Several analysis were carried out to evaluate the body-fat lowering effect. Administration of Monascus powder significantly decreased the body weight-gain, feed efficiency, and the weight and size of the perirenal and epididymal adipose tissues (p<0.05), and no significant difference in total food intake was observed in Monascus powder-administered groups as compared with high-fat diet group. The results indicated that the decrease of body weight gain and body-fat was not caused by decrease of total food intake. In the results of safety evaluation, administration of Monascus powder did not cause significant change in the blood sugar content, ketone body concentration, electrolyte balance, as well as liver and kidney function. The results proved that daily administration of 2-fold dosage of the Monascus powder for eight weeks could significantly lower body weight gain and body-fat.
