Table tennis is a sport consists of high degree of techniques. It combines six characteristics of accuracy, balance, speed, tough, rotation, and transformation. After International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) announced to change the size of ball from 38mm to 40mm in 2000, the elastic, speed, and rotation of table tennis ball was significantly decreased. By 2001, the ITTF also change the rules of competition by reduce the score from 21 to 11 per match, and players will rotate to serve two balls. These new changes had affected the technique and game plans for the players. Therefore, players must adjust their trainings in order to accommodate. The purpose of this report is to discuss the characteristic technique of table tennis after new changes applied, and to help our table tennis athletes by point out some new issues on annually training model. The present trainings of table tennis are not only focus on physical, technique, game plan, and wisdom, but emphasize more on psychological training and use regular competitions as higher level of practices. In addition, the use of new technology also helps the athletes by training under variety of simulations in order to expand the agility and free style of athletes, and create newer and better techniques. Therefore, the annual training plan for the sport of table tennis is very essential for international competitions.
