The objective of this research is to study the differences between two standards of B2B E-commerce: RosettaNet and XML/EDI, and to provide a mechanism of data exchange between these two standards, in order to improve the operation model between enterprises. There are many complicated and various kinds of e-commerce platforms existing in enterprises for different information standards or processes to handle electronic data exchange. This research uses RosettaNet as a basis to build a platform, to exchange information between enterprises through standardized message formats and business processes. This study takes the RosettaNet Processes and the Electronic Hub concept, explores data structure and process format between the different B2B standards. This research transfers data successfully by the rules from type of one-to-one and one-to-many. As for the exceptions, this research suggests to save the related data completely and to build relationships between data for recovery later, which can serve as a model to be used for other standards transformation. This research creates an information exchange model on an E-commerce platform-- Extricity with the programming language JAVA; it takes purchase order messages as an example for exchanging the data and the process between XML/EDI and RosettaNet to prove the proposed concept of this research.
