This thesis focused on designing a private ambiente that, through material transformation in the reception space and ritual bathing, enables people to relieve stress and gradually enter their inner paradise. In addition, via literature review and case study analysis, the author investigated the possibility of a dialogue between “substance” and “ego” and how said dialogue influences the multidimensional and vivid world conjured up by the observer. With regard to design concept development, a series of spatial experiences were designed around the core of perception. Moreover, elements that interact with materials and nature were included in the design concept to allow people to experience and interpret light, sound, color, and fragrance in various manners. Thus, the experience offered by the designed ambiente hopes to inspire a multitude of feelings within guests, allowing then to gradually attune themselves to the essence of material and life while purifying their body, mind and spirit.
