茄子「高雄二號」品種之育成
Development of Eggplant Hybrid cv. 'Kaohsiung 2'
摘要
本場自民國83年起以（1）果形長直、果色亮麗、外觀形狀宜人，（2）耐熱性強，尤重夏季果皮色澤、果形（果長及果重）及產量之維持，（3）抗青枯病，（4）豐產及品質佳，（5）具雜種優勢之一代雜交品種，為育種目標，進行品種選育工作，育成新品系紫娘－高雄2號。具有果形長直，果皮為亮麗深紫色，外觀品質佳，耐熱性與雜種優勢強，早期產量、總產量與良果率均高，青枯病抗性為中抗，及茄果貯藏性佳等優良特性。在南部地區平均產量為55.1公噸／公頃，比對照品種屏東長茄增產18.5%，在中部地區平均產量為37.9公噸／公頃，比對照品種麻芝長茄增產29.8%，可以推廣供中南部農民栽培的選擇。

Hybrid cv. 'Kaohsiung 2' was released in May of 2001 after seven years of breedig work. The commercial name is 'Purple Bride'. The new variety possessed straight long fruit with good deep purple color and eating quality. It had both high heat tolerance and hybrid vigor. High early and total yield and percentage of good fruit were also approved. The reaction to bacterial wilt was rated as moderately resistant. The storage ability of fruit was better than 'Pingtung Long'. It yielded 55.1 t/ha in south and 37.9 t/ha in central of Taiwan, more than major cv. ”Pingtung Long' and 'Matsu Long' by average of 18.5% and 29.8% in these areas respectively. However, The new variety was suggested to be cultivated by the farmers in central and south of Taiwan.
