This article tackles the problem of the two meanings of "Fundamental Transformation"(asraya-paravrtti, asraya-parivrtti). Firstly, this article reexamines the dispute about the "Fundamental Transformation" between Jikido Takasaki and Lambert Schmithausen. Secondly, I use the philosophical interpretation about the epistemological dimension and the ontological dimension of "Fundamental Transformation" to illuminate the meaning of different expressions of asraya-paravrtti and asraya-parivrtti. Finally, I come back to the context of the interweaving between tathagata-garbha and vijnaptimatrata to reexamines the dispute about the "Fundamental Transformation".
