影響豬心臟形態變異因素修正之初步探討

Preliminary Study on Correcting Factors Influencing the Heart Measurements in Pigs

摘要


心臟型態的比較和分類,在比較醫學上的動物模式中常需應用,而心臟病型態的變化,已知受到某些分類變數(如品種、性別、出生月份等)和連續變數(如體重)的影響,若能事先修正或控制這些已知因素的影響,將會增加比較和分類的準確性。根據213個純種豬心臟(於85-128.5公斤體重、171-267日齡時屠宰所得),所測12個心臟型態性狀資料,分析六種效應(出生年、出生月、品種、性別、品種×性別及體重)的影響程度,發現以機率≤30%作為修正與否的臨界指標時,有68.1%(49/72)的心臟形態效應得以控制。影響心臟形態變化最廣的是出生月份和品種這兩個效應,分別有12和10個性狀需修正;其次是性別和體重,均有八個性狀需修正。本研究以最小平方法和直線迴歸法導出相關性狀的效應修正因子,並以相同模式比較修正前與修正後標準偏差(SD)變異的出入,發現以心長的修正效果最大(SD減少23.5%),其次為心重和心重體重比(分別減少18.1%和19.7%),心寬與中隔前厚和中厚的減少則在10%-13%,其餘均在10%以下。本研究建議上述6個心臟形態性狀,在比較分類時,至少應修正出生月、品種、性別和體重等的差異,可使評估誤差減少10%以上。

Some categories (such as breed, sex, and month of birth) and continuous (such as body weight) variates will influence the accuracy of heart morphology classfication. The purpose of this stusy was to develop correcting factors or formula of the main effects that influence the variation of heart measurements in pigs. 213 hearts from pure breed pigs (body weight range from 85 to 128.5 kg, and age from 171 to 267 days) were used to measure 12 heart measurements and analyze the influences of six (year of birth, month of birth, breed, sex, breed X sex, and body weight ) effects. The results suggested that when using significant probability less than 30% as the correcting criteria, 68.1 % (49/72) measurement-effect could be controlled. Month of birth and breed were the most important effects that influencing heart measurements variation. There were 12 and 10 traits needed to be corrected, respectively. The followings were sex and body weight, there were 8 traits needed to be corrected. Correcting factors or formula of effects for related traits were developed by least square method and linear regression. The differences of standard deviation (SD) before and after correction indicated that heart length had the best correcting efficiency (SD decreased 23.5%). The next were heart weight and heart weight to boby weight ratio (SD decreased 18.1% and 19.7%, respectively). The decreases of SD in heart width、thickness of cranial and middle septum were 10-13%. The decreases of SD in other traits were less than 10%. The results of this preliminary study suggested that the effects of month of birth, breed, sex, and body weight needed to be corrected in heart morphology classfication. The correction can decrease more than 10% error in heart morpholohy evaluation in pigs.
