金門產條背螢(鞘翅目:螢科)的生活史與成蟲分布調查

Distribution and Life of Sclerotia flavida (Coleoptera, Lampyridae) on Kinmen Island

摘要


本研究室在室內以飼養盒飼養條背螢以飼養盒單獨飼養金門產的條背螢,得到完整生活史。卵期平均為15.3±1.2天(n=1037),幼蟲期平均103±34天(n=12),蛹期平均4.8±1.3天(n=4),公母性比為1.4:1(n=12)。熟齡(7齡)幼蟲至前蛹期長達100多天,推測幼蟲乃藉此蟄伏期度過野塘乾旱期。2016至2019年間在金門島與列嶼調查條背螢,金門島之族群已局部滅絕,烈嶼的族群數也不斷減少,目前僅發現一個小農塘。人工飼育雖能完成條背螢的生活史,但只能少量累代培育,尚未能建立條背螢大量繁殖技術。如何突破1至2齡的高死亡階段是未來主要研究目標。

Although there has been extensive research on the morphology and ecological behavior of Sclerotia flavida larvae, research on its life history is inadequate. The aim of this study was to establish a mass propagation technique for S. flavida and preserve its provenance. We demonstrated that the life cycle of S. flavida could be completed using divider boxes, but the overall number could not be scaled up. The larval to adult stages lasted an average of 299.0 ± 31.9 days (n = 12), the pupal stage lasted 4.8 ± 1.3 days (n = 4), and the male-to-female ratio was 1.4:1 (n = 12). Notably, the mature (7th instar) larval to the pre-pupal stages lasted more than 100 days. We assumed that the dormant period of mature larvae may help the larvae to survive dry periods in wild ponds. In Kinmen, S. flavida is currently found only in a small farm pond on Lieyu Island, with a small population. Mass breeding techniques for S. flavida are yet to be established, and current methods can only be used to successfully breed individuals over a small number of generations. Addressing the high mortality rate in the first and second instar stages is a key future research goal.
