金門島大陸窗螢(Pyrocoelia analis(Fabricius, 1801))的生活史與成蟲分布調查

The Distribution and Life History of Pyrocoelia analis (Fabricius, 1801) Fireflies on Kinmen Island

The technique of mass reproduction has already been established in the Pyrocoelia analis population. The results of a 4-year breeding record showed that the longest larval period of the female P. analis was 864 days. But the shortest period was 69 days, and the average was 419.3 ±185.6 days (n = 293). The longest period for male fireflies was 796 days, and the shortest was 50 days, and the average was 270.6 ± 125.6 days (n = 909). Tthe sex ratio was 3.2:1 (n = 1288). P. analis fireflies were widely distributed throughout Kinmen island, whereas Lieyu has yet to recod a population. The best location for observing adult male fireflies is Jincheng district of Kinmen island. The life history of P. analis on Kinmen island is longer than that on Taiwan Island. The amount of rainfall and food has been speculated to indirectly affect the population of P. analis and prolong the larval stage.
