The purpose of this study was the application of Orem's self-caring theory in caring for a patient suffering from cerebral hemorrhage. The nursing problems in this case were as follows: 1. increased intracranial cerebral pressure; 2. impaired physical maintenance inducing poor self-care; 3. anxiety; The study applied in Orem's theory to the nursing system. These concepts provided all kinds of nursing implementation. These included: health-education action to avoid increased intracranial cerebral pressure, teaching step-by-step actions and rehabilitation skills, providing a safe-environment, understanding the dangers of falling and helping guide the patient and his family through every therapeutic and rehabilitative activity, The patient's family support system was employed to face and sort out the problems. This proved to be helpful in promoting self-care. The writer hoped the experience gained will be helpful for nurses in their clinical practices.
