摘要


山葵(Wasabia japonica Matsum)臺農1號於民國72年從阿里山產區50萬株族群中選出後,歷經品種觀察試驗、品種比較試驗、區域試驗、綜合栽培技術改良試驗、抗病程度調查與品質分析等,確定其各項農藝特性及品質均比本地種優異,經審查通過而命名。 本品種全株鮮綠多汁,株形高大分蘖多,生長速度快且葉柄稍具甜味,又具較抗白銹病、黑心病及耐高溫等特性,適應性廣且高產,為一良好之加工及鮮食兼用品種,區域試驗每公頃平均葉柄產量達57,000公斤;根莖產量達21,000公斤,適合於海拔1200-2,300m之山地栽培。

Wasabi (wasabia japonica Matsum) variety, Tainung No.1, was develped at Ali-san, Chiayi, by the Taiwan Agricultural Rsearch Institute. It was a selection from a population of 500,000 since 1984 and was released to growers in May 1990 as specialty culutivar having a number of characteristics. It was oustanding in varietal observations and tests, including comparative test, regional test, integrated cultural practice, disease screening and quality analysis. Plants of Tainung No.1 are tall, growing fast, and superior in tillering capability both in above-ground and rhizome. Its petiole is green in color and taste sweet and juicy. It was observed resistant to white rust, leaf black spot, and rhizome streak disease. Tainung No. 1 was also widely adapted to various growth conditions, from low to moderate temperature regions and from sea level to 1200-2300 m height forests. Yields of petiole and rhizome reached 57,900 kg/ha and 21,000kg/ha in regional test, respectively. It can be used for food and processing.
